Easy Weeknight Turkey Chili

image_print

This chili is my go-to chili recipe. It is simple and fast! You can make it in the crock pot and let it cook all day, or throw it all together on the stove and have it done in 30 minutes. You can add additional vegetables as desired and have fun with your toppings. Enjoy!

Serves: 8 | Serving Size: 1/8 of chili

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 2 [15oz] cans no salt added black beans
  • 1 [15oz] can no salt added kidney beans – drained & rinsed
  • 1 1/4 cup of hot chunky salsa
  • 2 [8oz] cans no salt added tomato sauce
  • 1 tablespoon chili seasoning
  • Optional toppings: low fat sour cream, shredded cheese, salsa

Directions:

  1. Drain & rinse one can of black beans and mash well.
  2. In a crock pot combine salsa, kidney beans, undrained black beans and mashed black beans, tomato sauce and chili seasoning. Add ground turkey, combine well.
  3. Set crock pot to low and cook for 3+ hours or until turkey is thoroughly cooked. Serve in bowls with toppings of choice. Enjoy!
    • If short on time, cook turkey in skillet over medium-high heat. Combine all ingredients in a large sauce pan and let simmer until ready to eat.
