Crock Pot Homemade BBQ Sauce with Smokies

This recipe is perfect to bring to your upcoming Big Football Game party. It’s super simple, easy because you just combine it and cook on low and the homemade BBQ sauce that you warm the smokies in is addictive in itself. I like to double the BBQ sauce part for an added bonus. You can use any smokies or hot dog of choice but I like to cut up Tetons polish sausage and beef links into bite sized pieces.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup ketchupd
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/8 cup real maple syrup
  • 3.5 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 3 rounded tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon packed brown sugar
  • 2 rounded teaspoon chilli powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper powder
  • 2 – 3lbs hotdogs cut into bite sized pieces or smokies of choice

Directions:

  1. Combine first 7 ingredients in crock pot, add hotdogs/smokies.
  2. Cover and cook on low for 2 hours. Enjoy!
