Day 9: Happy Halloween!

We only have a few days left on Island so we’re feeling the crunch of getting all our must do’s in. We started our day off at one of the best snorkeling beaches Wailea has to offer – Ulua. This beach has limited parking, but there’s a constant flow of people coming and going, so drive around it a couple times before throwing in the towel, something will open up! This beach also has full facilities making it easy to have a full day there. The beach is long, so no matter how busy it is, you’ll always find a spot available. This beach also sits right next to the Andaz resort and other high end condos, so there’s a beautiful, well-manicured foot path that stretches along the whole area. This path is great for strolling if you want a break from the water. They also have pig roasting pit to the right of the beach path which is fun to check out if you haven’t done a Luau before.

After we left the beach we headed out to try some local breweries. We started at Kohola Brewery located in the Wailea Village. The location is great, right next to the Wailea Blue Golf Course. This is a developing shopping center, but the shops currently here are worth a stop. While Kohola has good beer, and is worth a stop, the service was really slow and unimpressive. So be sure to visit with plenty of time to spare, even if you’re just ordering a beer. Next we headed to Maui Brewing Co. for dinner and drinks. This is my favorite brewery on the island, and a must stop for each trip to the island. They offer brewery to table dinning, their location is beautiful, their food is delicious, reasonably priced and their craft cocktails are also worth trying. At 6:30pm they offer live music, Ayla enjoyed dancing and the musician, Christopher Anderson, gave her his guitar pick! After enjoying some music it was time to get Ayla and myself to bed! Happy Halloween!
