Day 7 & 8: Official Beach Bums

As you can see I have missed a couple days, but we have really embraced the relaxation of the island and haven’t been up to much besides beaching and eating. On Day 8 (Tuesday) I started the morning out with a full body Tabata workout in our condo, and then we headed back to Maluaka beach. We spent half our day there playing in the water, reading and soaking up the rays. We also had the same guy next to us that made the sand sculptures; today he made a dolphin running from a shark. As we were leaving Tina noticed she was missing one of her nice earrings so we spent about a half an hour looking for it, but unfortunately all we could find was the back to it.

When we got home from Maluaka beach AJ and I were completely sunned out; we had the intention of going out to dinner and shopping but all we wanted to do was lay in the air conditioned room. Around sunset we walked across the road to the beach to enjoy a beautiful sunset (and lots of birds chirping for the setting sun) then walked over to Maui Ice Cream and enjoyed a waffle cone of homemade deliciousness. AJ had a chocolate ice cream cone and I had Tutu’s Anniversary which was a sherbet cone of coconut, passion fruit and raspberry. We decided to walk along the beach while we ate our cones, then headed back to our room and instantly crashed.

Day 9 (Wednesday) was a little more eventful. AJ was still feeling pretty sunned out so we decided to start the day at the pool. When we got there I instantly went in and swam laps for my workout; and if you know me, you know I am NOT a swimmer, so this was quite the exertion. We stayed at the pool until we got hungry for lunch around 1pm. For lunch we headed next door to Coconuts Fish Tacos. As you can guess, they are known for their fish tacos, and they are AMAZING!! Best fish tacos you can get, anywhere. We enjoyed our grub then headed to the Kihei shops to see if anything stood out for us as souvenirs.  We ended up getting a few coconut bracelets and a shark Christmas tree ornament. I fell in love with Koa wood jewelry but didn’t find anything that really stood out as my style, I will continue to look though. I also found this amazing hammer head bangle, but it was a little big for my wrist unfortunately.

After shopping we decided to head to Monkey Pod for a Mai Tai. You can never go wrong with a Monkey Pod Mai Tai. Then it was off to my sushi dinner date at Koiso Sushi Bar in Kihei with Chad and Tina. Koiso has some of the best sushi, we always make a point of getting reservations when we’re on the island (reservations need to be made 4 weeks in advanced to get a table).  After dinner the three of us went to Maui Ice Cream and got cones for dessert, I got the same thing, Tutu’s Anniversay. Once I returned back to the room, I again, instantly crashed.

Day 10 (Thursday) is underway with AJ, Tina and Chad out on a scuba diving adventure, stay tuned for pics of their findings
